Domingo Club is an initiative by Maud Bausier and Antoine Jaunard, a Belgian creative duo with complementary strengths, based in Barcelona.
Their respective journeys, ranging from design to digital manufacturing, electronics, programming, and biohacking, along with their growing common interest in the practice of fermentation and the fantastic world of fungi, led them to establish Domingo Club in 2021 in an attempt to save our endangered climate. Since then, they design, ferment, create, cultivate, observe, and share.
The Domingo Fermenter is a creation of Domingo Club, an open-source device manufactured using digital fabrication technologies. This device maintains the appropriate parameters for cultivating our microorganism friends. With this product, the creative duo aims to create an aesthetically pleasing, easy-to-understand, fully repairable, and upgradable object, using sustainable materials and non-intrusive technology that consumes very little energy. The duo's idea is to bring more natural and fermentation processes into our homes to generate more curiosity and impact on our food system and lifestyles.
In the activity, Maud and Antoine will present their project and their two fermenter models. Then, they will demonstrate how to ferment tempeh, a high plant-protein food, explaining all the qualities and possibilities of this fantastic food and reviewing all the steps and tips for doing it yourself at home.
This activity includes a tasting of different tempeh preparations, opening a discussion on how to cook it.
